Forsyih, the Superintendent of Stree’s, &e., is engaged in fixing the levels of Pennsylvania avenue, preparatory to the lay- ing of the wood pavement, and it is expected that all the contractors will commence work on Monday next. To-day notices are being served on the property holders along the line to have the water and gas service pipes laid inside the curb ‘Ine to tue distance of ove uct, with a view of obviating the necessity of taking up the pavement for the purpose of laying pipes hereafter.
