—— THE MURDER OF MRS. FAULK} The Funeral of the Victim. The Arrest of Grady. ‘Elis Statements as to the Outrage, &c. The body of Mrs. Fanikner, the victim of the terrible crime noticed in Taz Stax of Sstur- day, was on Saturday afternoon buried at the expense of the corporation, and James Gray, the perpetrator of the outrage, whieh resulted in ber death, and whose arrest by Mr. Frank Myers was noticed in our last issue, was com- matted to jail yesterday by the coroner, Dr. Pot- ter. It appears from the statements of the ac- cused that after he left Mrs. Faulkner he went to the blacksmith shop and from there to Mr. P. Calinan’s, in the Seventh Ward, where he bor- rowed a dollar; that he got dronk and siept on the commons, and the uext day (Pride) be went to Alexandria, where he remained over night, ard the next day he came back to this city. The police were informed that about one p= Bink Saturday he was seen in the neigh- borhood of 1ith street and the canal bridge, aad it was thought at one time that he was in a wood yard, around which almost the entire pdpul: Hon of “the Division” and “Bay” gathere: waiting for the officers to go in and bring the prisoner out, but in the meantime Grady was arrested near the corner of 7th and D streets, when there was a greatrash to the Guard-house tosee bum.
