Caroline Rasher, with assault on Willis Jones. Caroline keeps a tin ware stand in the Northern Market, and adjoining is a tin ware stand kept by one Hertzkorg, a German. who employs Willis Jones, a colored man, to sell his wares. The assault grew out of rivalry between these two parties, each one accusing the other of getting away their customers. Car- oline was fi $1, without costs. Gen. Whittlesey, the comptroller, expects to enter on the pleasant duty of ‘paying out” some time next week, of which due notice will be given. It is understood that the school teachers will be among the first paid, and the certificates (for two months salary) and the money for the bal- ance will be placed in the hands of Mr. J.C.
