Pursuant to a resolution of the City Councils, passed last Monday evening. a joint meeting of the two boards and of citizens was held in the Aldermen's chamber, City Hall, last night, to hear an address from Hon. Lewis McKenzie, president of the Alexandria, Loudon and Haimp- shire railroad, in regard to the extension of the road to the Ohio river, thereby establishing a communication between this city and the West.
