TRE CHILDREN of the President's family, as already mated, have issued cards of invitation to yourg misses and masters of an aze corr-s- ponding with their own toa dancing party ou Tuesday evening next, at six o’elock. The jact that written invitations have been issued strips the party of anything like the character of a reception by the ladies or a levee of the President. Notwithstanding theeyident inten- hon to make it an exclusively juvenile party, “children ot a larger growth” have been eagerly seeking invitations to attend, and some amusing if not disgusting accounts could be told of the strategic means resorted to by this “larger growth” to obtain the « entree.” Invi- tations have gone for about 350 children, em- bracing families in official position and in pri- vate life, arom Gen. Grant's children to those of the humblest pu entage. TSE FASHIONABLE CIRCLES of Louisville baye been agitated for some time by the ap- Proaching marriage ot Gen. Wager Swayne, of the U. S.
