Messrs. W. P. Drew, John Goldin, and Geo. Sevage, with others, delivered addresses on the occasion. Some few pergons were induced to sign the pledge. A meeting was also held in Georgetown, at the butchers’ market, and ad- dressed by prominent temperance mea. A meet- ing m the cause of temperance was held last night in Temperance Hall, on E street, betyyeen Ninth and Tenth, and a goodly audience was io attendance. Addresses were delivered by Messrs. Gonsalves, Savage, Drs. Walsh, Clay- tom, and others. An opportuuity was offered to all who desired to sign the pledge. Outdoor | temperance meetings were also held yesterday afternoon at Island Hall and the Circle. At ail of these meetings earnest and forcible temper- ance addresses were made, and a namber of persons signed the pledged. ‘The presidency of the Washington City Temperance fallen upon John H.
