Fowler, has a projecton foot for theearly establishment of @ soup-honse on the brow of the bill facing his (Tenth street) wharf. The institution is intended for the benefit of the colored employees of the ice companies, to Whom good, nutritious soup will be furnished ata nominal figure. The enterprise is a com- mendable one, and will be put 1 operation at an early day. —+—___ SEASONABLE HINTS.—To cleanse your sink or water-closet, take one pound of sulphate of iron (cost but ten cents,) dissolve it in a bucket of water, and throw it wherever the offensive odor arises. In five minutes there will be no further call for a disinfectant in that direction. For your cellar one peck of lime is sufficient. Lime is the greatest absorbemt of moistare that we can conveniently use.
