Fitzpatrick snd his comrade were then in the water closet. Observing that the speed of the train was slackened they made a rush for the platform. Fitzpatrick being ahead got out without much difficulty, and, turning abruptly around, exclaimed, “Good afternoon, boys!” and leaped from the train. His comrade intended to do the same. but by this time, the Gpardsmen wok in the situation and seized him ben Fitspatrick reached the ground be stumbled and fell heavily, injuring himself se- ¥erely on the body and bead.
