The Rev. Dr Pinkney, of this city, was called to the Chair, andthe Kev. Mr. Park- man was appointed Secretary. Rev. Mr. Hammond, of Annapolis, offered . | the following resolution : Buying. After much discussion, the resolution was postponed until the first Tharsday of Novem- ber next, at a meeting to be held at St. Jonn’s Church, of this city. The Rey. Dr. Olds made a statement that the diocese of Maryland stands No.5 in the list of | dioceses in the United States, taking into con- sideration the number of ministers, parishes, communicants and amount of money raised; and that after the East rn Shore had been termed into & separaie diocese, and the con- templated division had been made, their po- sition would be No. 19 instead of No. 5. Rev. Mr. Sanderson stated that the people of the lower counties had been so impover- isbed that they would not be able to pay the amount assessed for the bishop's salary; that he himself was working for a salary 80 insig- nificant that he was ashamed to tell what it was.
