On the 3d imstant, @ Mr. Thompson. of Pond Creek, was Killed and scalped between Pond and Goose creeks. On the 7th instant, twe men from the mines, names unknown, were killed within bait a mile of the same piace. On the 11th in- sisnt, the coach from the West. having on board Lieutepant Bell and three soldiers, a lady passenger and driver, was attacked by trom twenty-five to thirty Indian, twenty-five miles from Fort Wallace. One soldier was killed, and the others dismounted and tought the Indians four miles, and flaally repulsed them, killing two. It is reported that on the 17th instant a Government train was attacked eighteen miles west of Fort Har- ker. and one man killed. His body was hor- ribly mutilated. The Indians are so trouble- some that stage drivers refuse to go out, and eight of them have deserted their coaches. It is rumored at Pond Creek that General Cus- ter has been repnised by the Indians, who came down in great force from Platte valley.
