The plan was to make a descent on the various bouss simultaneously, and the police of the Sth and 7th precincts were divided into tour squads for the purpose, and placed und-r command of Capt. Keed and Lieut. Tait in the cond Ward, Lieut. Kelley and Lieat. Eck- lof in the Fourth Ward. At 12:150’clock the Squads moved to points indicated, Capt. Reed to the saloon of Mich’l Kelly on E street east to & Co.'s Saloon, west of Grover’s, in the same square. Lieut. Kelly went to the saloon of Alex. On Wednesday night, a new division, under the name of Ontario. is, will be institated at Odd Fellows’ Hall, Navy Yard. —_»——_ ARREST OF ScrrosED THIEVES.— Yesterday morning, detectives Kelly and Bigley noticed two young men near the corner of th street and the Avenue, one carrying a ladies’ satchel, who they regarded as suspicious characters, and followed them into the market, where they “ pulled” them, when one attempted to show fight. They were taken to police head- quarters, where they gave the names of Silas Limp and Chas. W. Williams, and stated that they were engaged selling goods on commis- sion forahouse in Philadelphia. Their satchel Was opened. and was found tocontain twenty- two watches, four of which were gold, and some of them second-handed, and a aumber of pocketcombs. They aiso had an internal revenue license fora peddiler in the name of ‘Wm. Niles, which they denied knowing any- thingabout.
