We learn that the allotment of four days to a ward was hee te experimental, and that if it is found that this time is not sufficient for the work it will be extended. Yesterday afternoon, the Judges of Election continued the work of recording the names of Voters in the First Ward. Thecrowd was somewhat larger thar en the previous day, but was verv orderly. During the evening 650 names were recorded, of which 228 were white, and 422 celored, making the total for the two days 1,175—756 colored, and 419 white. A few ot theapplicants were challenged, and five were rejected—two colored, on account of not being residents of the ward, two on ac- count of not being able to eertify to their age, and one white who could not prove that he was naturalized. The registers are taking great pains in their work, carefully noting the residence of each applicant for the purpose of identification. aay will probably remain in the First Ward on Friday, and perhays Satar- day, and will commence their work in the Second Ward on F street, near 15th, on Mon- day evening. a RECOVERED.—-Last Sunday a week ago, Mr. H.C.
