Two families of Carter county, East Teu- nessee, named Roberts and Johnson, have been waging 2 bloody war between eaeh other for twenty years. During this time fourteen men belonging to the twe families have lost their lives, and on the evening of the 5th inst., mm Elizabeth, Tennessee, the sole surviving males of the two families engaged in analter- eation which resulted fataliy to both. The Union Tennessee State Convention to nominate a candidate for (Governor meets on the 22d of February. A number of counties in East Tennessee reccommend the renomination of Governor Brownlow. The Washington Territory Legislature does not recognize the military headquarters of the North, transferred to Portland, and has passed a memorial to be forwarded to the War De- partment remonstrating against it. A dispatch was received at Ottawa Saturday night, by the cable, to the effect that the con- federation delegatesin Engiand had decided to remove tbe capital of the confederation from Ottawa to Quebec. CHOLERA ON A STEAMER.—The passengers who arrived at New York by the steamer San Francisco, from Nicaragua, Saturday, report at San Juan del Surthey found 70 Passengers from the steamer Santiago de Cuba, of ‘whom 300 were soldiers, who had been left by the Moses Taylor. They found the steamer San Francisco at Greytown, with 6) more passen. gers for the America’s retarn trip, being 1,300 inall. Official reports state that nine of the passengers and twenty-seven soldiers had died of cholera. Ifthe America tries to carry them all the cholera is nearly sure to break out on board. If this were done every m4 for & year it would diminish the debt by three hundred and sixty-five millions of dollars yearly, which is more than the whole internal revenue produces.
