A Prisow OUTBREAK ABOUT Toracco.—The Toalon journals give accounts of a serious outbresk among the youthful convicts confined im & penitentiary in the Ile de Leyant. A feel- ing of diseatisfaction was expressed among the convicts that they were not allowed longer periods of recreation and permission to smoke fobaceo. Stephenson, living near Mill Creek Chaurch, in the victnity of Glencliff Station, on the Nashville and Chattanooga railroad, and his whole family were accideataliy poisoned Thursday night. It appears that Mr Stephen- son had procured some arsenic for the purpose of Killing rats, and this poison had been placed upon a shelf where. afterward, some baking powders were laid. Mrs. Stephenson made the mistake, putting some of the noxious drug into biscuits, wRich she baked, and of which the family partook. Aimostimmediately upon Tising from the supper table Mr. S. was taken With vomiting, and very soon his wif:, the children, and some colored persons living ar the house were taken violently ill. Suspecting the cause, an examination showed the trne state of the case. Not being able to Procure Medical attendance immediately. Mr. Stephen- on swallowed a piece of tobaeco himeelt, and induced the otherstodothesame. A MuRDER AND ITS Cavses—A week ago Sunday, Charles H. Bent, agent of the Associ- | ated Press, was in Louisville in company | wih a woman, and in two hotels was caught | 10 fagrante delictu.
