EVENING STAR. Responsidility of Bankers and Others for Special Depesits. An interesting Case, at Cincinnati, before Judge Storer anda jury, was heard on Mon- day iast. An action was brought by W. The defendants claimed that they had re. ceived this deposit without having given a re- cept, and without examining the envelope to see whether it contained the amount named: tDat they notified the defendants that as they Tecerved no compensation for tbe care of the bonds, they coula not be held liable for their Joes, 98 in cases where ae deposits in the regular way.
