Officer Bailey. of the second precinct, appeared tothe contra- bands suddenly, while they were fighting. The conflict ceased instantly. and a geueral scampering of the fighters ensued. Those who were armed with pistols, &c., feared that they might be canght with the weapens, and to save themselves the $20 fine threw their pistols away. The officer could not make the arrests he desired, the leaders in the fight beinz too fleet forhim. Heturned back and gathered up the pistols they had thrown away. Conners Was arresied yesterday by officer Hurdle, of the First Ward, for the larceny of a Govern- ment ambulance and team, and was sent to beadqnarters fer hearmg before Superinten- dent Kichards. Conners was arrested several weeks ago on the same charge, but was dis- missed, the evidence not being sufficient to justify 2 commitment for court. Hes now arrested upon the discovery of other eyidence, and is held to bail for turther héaring.
