See Peer Fignt AMONG THE CONTRAHANDS.— (m Sunday afternoon, a gang of colored row- dies, most of them contrabands, assembled in be fields between lith and 15th streets and Rhode Island avenue, and had a free fight with pistols and brickbats. Officer Bailey. of the second precinct, appeared tothe contra- bands suddenly, while they were fighting. The conflict ceased instantly. and a geueral scampering of the fighters ensued. Those who were armed with pistols, &c., feared that they might be canght with the weapens, and to save themselves the $20 fine threw their pistols away. The officer could not make the arrests he desired, the leaders in the fight beinz too fleet forhim. Heturned back and gathered up the pistols they had thrown away. Thes+, of course, will be confiscated ees ORrHANS’ Court, Judge Purcell.—Ye-ter- day, the will of the late Richard Gudgin, be- queathing ‘one-third of his property to his widow, and the balance to be divided ber bis five children, was fully proven, auc ters testamentary were issued to Robt Py well and Atwell Cowling, the executors named, who gave bond in the sum of 86,(00. Thomas Henry Morris, a colored ‘boy, with the consent of his mother, was bound appren- tice to Wm. H. Hill, colored. until he attains the age of twenty-one years. The caveat filed by the widow of Fraucis Strother against the will of the deceased was withdsawn. Se ee CHARGE OF STEALING GovernNMENT MULES, AMBULANCE AND HARNESS —Wm. Conners Was arresied yesterday by officer Hurdle, of the First Ward, for the larceny of a Govern- ment ambulance and team, and was sent to beadqnarters fer hearmg before Superinten- dent Kichards. Conners was arrested several weeks ago on the same charge, but was dis- missed, the evidence not being sufficient to justify 2 commitment for court. Hes now arrested upon the discovery of other eyidence, and is held to bail for turther héaring.
