Mr. Goddard, from streets com- mittee, reported an ordinance for the improve- ment of street; repealing an ordi- mance for the same purpose. in 1865; laid over under the rules. Orme, from Police committee, asked to be and was dis- sbarged from consideration of the Mayor's message relative to the sanitary condition of the town; and the meseage was referred to the Aldermen. Mr. Goddard, from the streets committee, reported a resolutien authorizing the a the wharf at the foot of High street. . Goddard also, asked to be and was disc! from consideration of the Mayor's message retative to the ap- pointment of Commissioners of streets. A resolution of the Aldermen making ap- propriation for a flag footway across Congress street, at the north line of Dunbarton street, wastaken up. Mr. Goddard moved to strike out the sum of forty dollars and insert thirty- five: agreed to. Also to appropriate thirty- five dollars for a fiag footway across Market street; to and the resointion ax amended ‘Was adopted. A resolution appointing a com- mittee to revise the charter was taken wp and, en motion ot Mr. Barrett, Mr. W. L. Dunlop ‘Was appointed on the part of this board, and the resolution was adopied. Mr. Goddard of- fered a resolution ofinquiry relative w neces- | sary repairs of Bridge street; adopted. Also, a resolution of inquiry relative to a sewer on | HigB, near ist street: adopted. By consent the | board took up and concurred in the amend- ment of the Aldermen to the resolution reia- | tive to dwellings and tenements.
