Bishop McGill, of Richmond, Virgina, preached in St. Matthews Church toa large congregation on the alleged intolerance of the Catholic religion, and in a masterly manner he defeuaed the Church, contending that the Catholics, as 4 religious denomination, were more liberal than any oicer, and the Church regarded all persons, whéreyer they wor- shipped, and who entertained no susp.cions thal their faith was wrong, as Catholics, but from the visible members of the Church they exacted a rigid practice of the ruies. In connection with this Church we may no- ptice that the new edifice built in th parish for gee colored people is well attended, and that “services are regularly held by Rev. Fathers White and McNally. The colored folks have organized a fine choir, which is already be- coming noted for its excellent rendition of the Chureb music.
