On the following night the white man, whose name is Louis Dumazeaud, was rearrested by officer Crown, to whom he acknowledged that he had been in several chicken and pig stealing expe- ditions with the colored men. The colored men were brought out of the workhouse by Sergeant Johnson, and last night, with the White man, they were arraigned before Jus. tice Walter, when Dumazeaud reiterated his statement. The colored men strennously de- nied having been on any such expeditions, but one of them stated that at the time the police eome upon them they heard the cry of mur- der, and Damazeanud was out at the time.
