The Lynchburg News says thatan exceed- ingly rich vein of iron ore has been discovered on the lands of Mr. Marble C. Goodwin, near Sandiges, in the Northwestern part of Amherst county, and only about seven miles from the Orange railroad, at Amherst Court House. The work of getting out the ore has already commenced, and it is designed at once to erect furnaces for the purpose of smelting. Uther discoveries of the same kind have also been made in the neighborhood; but as yet, no movement has been made to deyelop the extent or richness of the deposits.
