The construction of the double track to Cumberland will be completed in 1866. This is a work that will be a vast advantage to the coal interests, as well as to Pittsburg, when the Connellsville Road is fully completed. The construction of another road from this city to Washington is opposed on several grounds. The construction of a road down the Valley of Virginia, connecting with the Baltimore and Ohio, is commended to the attention of the Board and this community. Should such a work be undertaken, we doubt not it would be largely promotive of the interest of both Vir- gimma and Maryland.
