WHITE HOUSE. | There was quite a crowd of visitors at the Exeentive Mansion to-day. Among those who called were Lieut. General Grant, Major Gen- eral Geary, the rebel Genera] Albert Pike, of scalping notoriety, and ex-Senator Johnson, of Arkansas, who was a member of the United States Senate with President Johnson, an@ who now is seeking pardon for his extensive participation in the rebellion. A number of lagies were also present, urging the claims of triends for amnesty. One of these was quite earnest in behalf of Harry Gilmor, of Maryland. Mrs. Bishop, daughter of the late rebel Secretary of War, Mr. Mal- lory, is here endeavoring to obtain her father’s release on parole. The statement that Judge Magrath and the rebel Secretary of War, Mr, Seddon, had been released from Fort Pulaski, and Goy. Lubbuck from Fort Delaware, on their parole, is without foundation. There is no probability that either will be set at liberty very soon. OFFICIAL VISIT TO THE STONBWALL. Loosr Dotnos.—We understand that some time ago a difficulty occurred on the Pamunkey river, Which resulted in the death of a negro man. It appears that a white man. by the name of Camm Wynne, of New Kent county, while in a boat on the river, near to the King William shore, entered into a conversation with @ negro, who was standing on the King William side, The negro charged Wynne with haying circulated false reports about him, and irom this, ene word led te another, until the impudenceof the negroso incensed Wynne that he raised his gun and fired, the load taking effect and causing the negro’s death in three or four days. Wynne was arrested by the authorities in New Kent, carried before a magistrate and discharged, on the ground that the offence was committed within the jurisdiction of King Wil- liam county. Wynne is still at large, and as far as we can learn, the authorities of Wing William have taken no steps, whatever, to arrest him, or in any other y, to investigate the matter. Where the civil authorities are so indifferent to the perpetration of the most serious and culpa- ble crimes known to the law, we may reason-’ ably expect vielence and disorder, ‘attended with danger and insecurity to persons and pro- perty.— Richmond. The inspectors informed him they had; whereupon he directed it to bel ut im order for shipping. He was then asked yy the inspectors had he the usual tobacco notes?
