They number 15, and it is said they are credited to the quotaof the Sixth ward. a ACCIDENTAL HOMICIDE,— Wednesday, about 5 o'clock, a soldier named Britton, at the bar- rack on I, between 23d and 24th streets, west, accidently shot and killed a comrade named Robinson. The affair was so palpably acci- dental that an inquest was deemed unneces- sary. a Navy YArp.—The ice having disappeared from the river the Don (flagship) and Stepping Stones left this morning for the lower river. The Banshee will leave to-morrow. It is un- derstood that the recruiting office will be opened on Monday. ———__ Me. EprroR.—About $20,000 of the money of the people of this town was given to relieve our citizens from the last draft. The tax pay- ing citizens may be glad to haye ap opportu- nity of seeeing how that large amount of money was spent, and if we shall be able to elect a new Common Council, the whole thing will be thoroughly imvestigated, and the true state of the case be made publicly known, as an act of yustice to all concerned.
