The meeting was calied to order by L. Cle- a ap Esq., who stated as there w&s no regu- ar organization of Marylanders in the District it bad been thougnt proper to call this meeting in view of the important election about to take piace in that State. Mr. Clephane read a letter trom Hon. H. W. Hoffman, chairman of the Maryland State Ex- ecutive Committee, in answer to a letter of his in which he (Mr. Hoffman) states that if lists of Marylanders and their residences are fur- nished the committee measures will be taken to get them to the polls.
