In the Third District the duties of the Trus- tees are particularly onerous, owing to tne fact that a number of the schools will go into the new school building at the corner of 3th and Pennsylvania avenue. The following schools have been assigned to rooms in the new building :—Male Grammar, Mr. McCath- ran; Female Grammar, Miss M. E. Ramsey; Male Intermediate, Miss Moss; Female Inter- mediate, Miss Elvans; Secondaries, 7, Miss Jennie Ramsey; 9, Miss Williams:3, Miss San- derson; Male schools, 8, Miss Thompson; 5, Mrs. Jordan, formerly Miss Tucker; 1, Mrs. Clarke; Female school, Miss Mopby’s, (Sec- ondary 4) will occupy the hall of this building temporarily; Secondary No. 2, Miss Moore, will occupy the room vacated by Miss Elvans, on E street, near 6th; Secondary No.6, Miss Davis, one of the rooms in the old market- house, 3d and A street, which has been parti- tioned off into two rooms, ome of which will be occupied by Primary No, 2, Al; Pri- maries 3and 5, Misses Allen and Aukward, will occupy rooms on K street south, near the canal; Miss Wheatley’s Primary No. 4, will be taught in the Young Men's Christian Asso- ciation Chapel, on ist street, between B and C Treasury Department. ————»—__ AFFAIRS IN GERORGETOWN.—\NSanitary Meas- ures,—The Sanitary Police of the Town are looking especially after those places where grease and fat are boiled or rendered, and where old rags are stored. {Itis about time the Sanitary Police of Washington were doing ditto.] In a recent case against Margaret Hor- ner, two physicians testified that trom the de- fendant’s house, where filthy rags and grease were stored, there is a very offensive odor emitted, which engenders 8 low form of ty- phoid fever. No decision has been rendered in \the case, but the Sanitary officers are waiting the decision in erder to proceed immediately against sll houses similarly used. There are several store-houses containing the offensive merchandize, and the decision in this ease will apply to the others. é@ Flour Mills—The flour mills in and around the town are in full operation. The large quantities of grain required are received from various sources, principally at this time by way of Baltimore and the river. A large quantity of gate shipped at New York is now on the way to Georgetown, and supplies from othersources arrive as needed.
