LOCAL NEW AMUSEMENTS TO-NIGHT. Eorp's ‘LHEATER.—To-night again, and for the inst time, Mr. Forrest will appear as “Spar- tacus,” in Dr. Bird's tragedy, “The Gladisior. The public generally will be well pleased with this announcement, for last night was one of those unpleasant evenings which deterred many from venturing out, and there is undoubt- edly a great desire to see this play. To-morrow Alice Gray takes a benefit. Grover’s THEATER.—TWo fine plays ara ‘Announced for to-night, viz: Wilkins’ thrilling Yomance of the «Scalp Hunters,” and Tom Taylor's play, “Still Waters Run Deep.” In “both plays Messrs. Wallack and Davenport and Mrs. Farren will appear in prominent characters. The play of the “Scalp Hunters” as lately been added to the repertoire of the combination, and will no doubt create a sensa- | tion. CANTERBURY.—During this week the nightly formance will commence with comedy and end with comedy, and the time between the two plays will be filled with really interesting rformances, in the way of song, dance, Ethiopian eccentricity. &c. All who want a good laugh we advise to go to Canterbury.
