He will sustain prominent psrts in the plays «Heir at Law” and “John Dobbs,” and in both will be, a3 usual, exceedingly amusing. That Mr Owens is not likely to lose his popularity in Washing- ton is ehcwn by the crowded houses he has drawn for two weeks. Groven’s TUEATER.— Miss M, E. Braddon’s novel, «Eleanor’s Victory,’ has been drama- tized, and will be produced to-night for the first time at eny theater, at Grove! Mr. Hinton, the president of the society, made an earnest speech, and was succeeded by John Causten. Jonn Henry Thomas read a very well written speech. Prof. Wilkeson sang an improved edition of the famous Joha Brown song, in the chorus of which the audience heartily joined. Lenox Remond, an anti-sl1- very orator, made 4 persuasive harangue, which was followed by a well written poem, read by its author, Wm. Miles.
