Arrangements have been made by the Government to protect all who desire to resume work. “Jno. D. Derress, Supt. Pab. Printing.” The undersigned, who are acting as the com- Mittee of the Bookbinders’ Association, desire to state to Mr. Defrees, through the same source which he has published his card, that the state- ment he makes in relation to ‘many Book- binders” being prevented from going to work by “threats of personal violence,” is devoid of truih. Our Society neither counsels violence nor encourages those who may be zo indiscreet as to give utterance to rash or abusive lan- gvage. Our fellow-craftsmen area law-abiding and loyal body of men. who discountenance those who know not how to respect the law. They are now exercising a right which belongs to them, and that is, not fo work until their rates of wages are increased.
