Hoiloran’s wife belog present, seemed to be very averse to giving up the money, and re- sisted the surrender with such force that Holloran refused to yield. The Justice threatened to send him to jail; but the threat amounted to nothing with the wife. The Justice made out a commit- ment and sent bim off; and it was not until he was half way to the prison that she yielded and agreed to return the money. THEATER —The Naiad Queen was performed last night before a crowded house in superb style. The moonlight view of the Rhine, the crystal abode of the naiads, and the realms of the water queen Were magnificent; and, in fact, the whole scenery was splendid, while Jefferson asSchnapys was perfectly inimitable. Miss Mann personated the Naiad Queen admirably, and brought down the bouse with the marshaling of her Amazonian cohorts. Miss Shaw as {dex was also most charm- ing, and Mrs. Mana as Bridget was incom- ble.
