Before Justice Williams —James Welsh was found very drunk, very quarrelsome, and very limp. and disordered in respect to. dress. He was brought before the magistrate and fined $5.and 34 cents costs. While in the mag isirate’s office, James was charged with carrying a concealed weapon; but before the officers could search him. he het adroitly got rid of a large revolver wr he ha about person by slipping it out ket and ing it under the stove near which he sat. He ieee up and allowed himself to be searched, and no weapon being found he was dis- charged. After a short tire. t] istrate found the revolver where it had been di ited. and ap- propriated it to the use of the Corporation, Jacob Fisher, sr., who lives with his son Jacob, jr., and Christiana, his wife, laid complaint before t istrate that Christiana Fisher taken an axe and broken prena’ see door of bis private room. A warrant was issued. and Christiana was. soon escorted into the office in cl of a police- oan, and accused of malicious mischief. was held to bail in the sum of $300 to answer the charge before the criminal court. Last night, about 9 o'clock, a false alarm of fire | brought out three of the tire companies—the West- eru Hose, Perseverance and Franklin, who came in coltision near the corner of Eleventh street and Peansyivyania avenue, but owing to the presence of a large force of the officers of the wateh. no Sighting ensued. Shortly afterward another false alarm brought out the Union Fire Company. who ran their engine down the Avenue to corner RBapteet : street, when a man named Geo. Kelly #e his bold upon the rope and pulling a Jlack bottle from his pocket, threw it with at ee at oe Loman & who had under- taken to stop the appsratua, telling them it a a pp ing was 3 iy. anda young man named Hutton, who was stinding with him, immedi- ately ran up and arrested Kelly. A yeneral rush was then made by the members of the engine —— to rescue Kelly from the officers. . Stones and brickbats were freely thrown, and many efforts were made to run the engine over the officer. In the melee, six or cight pistol shots were tired, and Donnelly at last finding that his prisoner was likely to be taken from’ him, drew his reyolver and fired one shot at the crowd.
