Berry Hicuway Rossery —Last night, Th McAbee ‘Was arrested by the Auxiliary Guard and taken to the guard house for steals This morning the case came up for trial, and the Principal wit- ness. an old man named Ingersoll, stated that he met the prisoner at a restaurant on Seventh street. on Thursday afternoon. McAbve claimed to be acquainted with him. and insisted on the old man treating. The cid man asked him what he would have, and he took oysters. They went to another restaurant, and meta young man who said he was from Baltimore and want-d to find a frieud. MeAbee said be knew where he lived The young n said he would treat if McAbee would show him. He treated. and McA bee in- sisted on the old man ge ing with him. He con- sented After finding the house they returned to Seventh street. It was wear sundown. McAbee said bis father had left him a lot. a short distance on the commons, and as cot it cheap he would sell it cheap, and asked the old man to go and look at it Fey went. Tur Matter —Yesterday afternoon, a great crowd was seen moving toward the Central Guard-hourse from the Second Ward. What's the matter? was the question. One saidadarkey had stabbed a white man; another said that the officers bad caugbt a burglar; a third that the Indians hud got into a muss, and they had to arrest this one. It turned out that Tom Russell, a well-known colored individual had gotona “bust;?? bad kicked up the mischief in the streets d the officers had arrested him, and ~ him for trial.
