Doubtless the ranks of this Company never was filled by a set of men, if we may be permitted to judge from their appearance and character, who would be more likely to render the public good service in case of necessity. We were informéd last night by some of the officers that some sev- enty-five volumes of saiuable books have been taken from the library of the com ny and never returned. This is too bad, and aheos persons in possession of them should at once return them to where spt belong ; Quite a brilliant, and apparently deeply inter- ested audience, assembled tthe Methoaist Prot- estant church on Congress street, at 2 o'clock yes- terday. to witness the interesting ceremony of uniting a loving couple in the bands of matri- mony.
