Notice Is hereby given to holders ef stocks of the United States that this Department will pur- chase fo the amount of $1,500 000 of sald stocks at any time when the saine mey be offered prior to the Ist day of Jume next, and will pay therefor the following prices, to wit: For stock of the loan of 1542, a premium of ten per cent.; for stock of the loans of 1847 and 1848, @ premiuin of sixteen per cent.; for stock issued under the act of 1960, commonly called Texas-in- demnity stock, a premium of six per cent; and for stock of the loan of 146, redeemable on the 12th November, 1546, if received at the Treasury prior to the ist day of January next, a premium of 2} percent; If received between the Ist Jan- uary and the 3lst of March next, a premium of 2 per cent ; and If received after the ist of March and prior to said Ist of June next, a premium of 1 per cent. Interest will aleo be allowed on said stecks at the rates specified in the certificates, from the Ist July last, if assigned with the principal of the certifientes received prior to the Ist of January next. After that date the laterest will be allowed in addition to the premium from Ist of January to the date of their receipt. In both cases one day’s interest will be allowed in addition for the money to reach the seller.
