Franklin — Phone 473 Romantic Story At 20th Century The pageantry and glamour of the islands, their romance and tra- dition, are packed with inspiration and magnificence in “Bird of Para- dise,” the latest triumph from Twentieth Century-Fox, which is at the 20th Century Theatre. Pho- tographed in color by Technicolor, and in actual Hawaiian island loca- tions with a cost of hundreds of na- tives participating, “Bird of Para- dise” will linger in the moviegoer's memory as a hallmark of exotic and lavish entertainment. Superbly played by Louis Jourdan, Debra Paget and Jeff Chandler, “Bird of Paradise” tells of an island romance between a white man whose sense of adven- ture brings him to ancient tropical islands and a native maiden who is the most beautiful and innocent of her tribe. It relates, too, the struggle be- tween the old ritual and the new enlightenment, culminating in such its stars, vivid native Polynesian tribal dances and, finally, the sacrifice of the beautiful maiden to the flaming hunger of an erupting volcano. it Feotball Scores By the Associated Press Scores of important football games on Thanksgiving Day are: Denver 21, Colo.
