Tannelli arrived here Tuesday tol do the photography for a “Best Cook in Our Town” spread in Mc- Call's featuring Juneau's best cook. Assignment to do the story was given to Mrs. Oren R. Cleveland by Helen McCully, food department o editor of McCelis and Mrs. Cecil " Casler was selected by McCalls as Juneau’s “best cook.” All of Juneau and its very pho- togenic vicinity has been photo- graped by Mr. Iannelli under the guidance of Mrs. Casler and Mrs Cleveland. And of course there were pictures and an interview with Mrs. Casler during the preparation of the best cook’s dinner at the Casler home Wednesday night. ‘The menu—and the recipes cho- sen by Miss McCully for the Mc- Call's Magazine feature? They are a secret until publication a few months from now. The telegram was sent by Col. J. D. Alexander, territorial director of tcivilian defense, with the concur- rence of Governor Ernest Gruening. The medical supplies will be dis- tributed to various civilian defense organizations in Alaska with first priority given to the most critical areas of Anchorage and Fairbanks.
