Mrs. Leonard Lowell caught the largest cutthroat trout entered ini the Juneau Chamber of Commerce’s | annual Trout Derby. At the Cham- | ber of Commerce meeting, Pete Warner, chairman of the Trout Derby Committee, asked her where she caught it. “Turner Lake,” Mrs. Lowell said. “There are a lot of us men who ddn't do nearly as well in thej| derby,” Warner said. “We'd like | to know exactly where—in case we enter the derby next year.” “Turner Lake,” said Mrs. Lowell For winning over a field of doug- ty male anglers, Mrs. Lowell was presented with a .30-06 rifle. She relented a little. “I caught the fish trolling with spingers,” she said. First place in the Dolly Varden division of the “no-entry-fee” con- test, ‘which began June 1 and ended August - 15, went to Douglas Blan- chard.. 'He caught his winner “in Johnsbn Creek on Taku River.” A .30-06"rifle was the prize. Frank Wrjght won second prize in the” ‘outthropt divisign. The | prize was a fly-casting outfit. Asked by Warner where he caught his fish, Wright said: “Twgnér | Lake.” “Where in Turner Lake?” ‘Warner | asked. “Casting from & boat in Turner Lake,” ‘Wright answered. . Second prize-winner in the Dolly Division, Luis DeFlorin, was not| present to receive his prize. Royal O'Reilly, who took third place in the division was. His prize was a bait-casting outfit.
