JUNEAU ts SAFE An all-male contingent of the “Shank, Ship and Shutter” club reported Saturday morning. The forenoon was spent visiting the Nugget Creek dam and suspension bridge and hiking up the stream to the shelter cabin. The abund- ance of blue berries delayed the group somewhat. The berries were reported to be the largest ever seen. Because so much ice has been dislodged lately’- from Mendenhall glacier, the colors there are very striking. Considerabe time was spent in the afternoon exploring the area around the glacier and taking pictures. For the rugged climb to the top of Mt. Juneau on Sunday, with I. J. Montgomery and Caroline Hoff as leaders, only five of the “weaker?” sex reported. They were Viola Phillips, Mary Ann Stewart, Anne Garjes Mary Ellen Bond and Shirley Meuwissen. The day was excellent for photography and many good pictures were taken from the top. The coming weekend the group plans to go by boat to Tracy Arm. One group will leave Friday eve- ning, returning Saturday evening. Another group will leave Saturday evening, returning Sunday evening. A limited number can be accom- modated by leaving by hydroplane in the morning. Reservations should be made soon. —_ S BONDS DEPOSITS IN THIS BANK ARE INSURED and household ninety-five families. items, M and be of good personal experience, and referencs This is a permanent Address reply to Box Number Empire, Juneau, Alaska.
