Each troop has been assigned a specitic area for its patrols to camp in and fi judges will rate the patrols on their § ability to make use of the area to its best advantages. Observers will | also rate the quality of meals | cleanliness, safety precautions, abil- P ity of the patrol to work together, | and general preparedness of the | group to take care of themselves in the open. ‘ Saturday morning will feaiure a first aid meet, with the afternoon | being given over to the running off . of a series of field events, including a water boiling contest, signalling event, and contests in using com- pass, axe, map making and other Haines Highways. Steve Larsson | Homer, manager of the Chilkoot | Motorship Lines states that the Pages were able to ‘get over the peak on the Haines Highway under still was some ice and mud on the road. The Page auto was the first over !the highway this season and the first to Juneau on the Chilkoot. The Chilkoot left this morning for a return trip to Haines with considerable freight for Lytle and Green Construction Co. and sev- eral autos.
