JENSEN HOME The W. C. Jensen home is the scene of a happy re-union this week. The Princess Norah, docking last Saturday evening, brought to Ju- neau Mrs: Jensen’s daughter, Mary Jantzen, whom her mother had not seen for 39 years. S8he came from Hamburg, Germany, leaving therc on March 13 and made the trip via Canadian Pacific steamship and railroad. S8he landed at Halifax, took the train across Canada, and left Vancouver last Wednesday eve- ning for Juneau. Another daughter, Mrs. Kenneth Hager, flew down from Anchorage, also arriving Saturday, to be here to welcome her sister. A son of the family, Carl Jensen, resides in Ju- neau. Mrs. Jensen said it took them four years to get her daughter out of Germany. Hamburg was one of the more severely bombed cities of Germany and her daughter went through all of its bombings. In fact, she went through World War I as well, but was too young to remem- ber much of it. Asked how her daughter liked her first impression of this side of the ocean, Mrs, Jensen said she was very happy to be here and is quickly learning to speak English. She will remain here permanently, making her home with her parents. CUB BEARS SIGHTED Spring is here, according to the bears.
