FRIDAY, DECEMBER 9, 1949 COLUMBIA, ARCTIC ARE WINNERS OVER MOOSE AHD STORIS The Columbia Lumbermen and the Arctic Bar both troke into the win column by defeating the Moose and the Storis respectively 1ast|‘ night in the Douglas High Schuoli Gym. W The scores for the games were. Columbia Lumber 62, Moose Arctic Bar 39, Storis 29. The first game saw an outmanned Moose , squad go- down before they sharpshooting Lumbermen who,.up until that time, had yet to win a game, The Columbians were held to a five point lead in the first quarter, but began to pull away from the Moosemen in the second period with a scoring attack that lasted unt.l the {inal horn ending the game. High scorers for the Columbians were Bavard with 17 points fol- lowed by Nordling with 14 and Hogins with 13. High for the Moose were Watchman with 16 markers with teammate Jerry Magorty close behind with 13, In the nightcap the Arctic tive came from behind in the second quarter to tie the Storis cagers} at the half 17 all.
