SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 19, DR. RYAN RETURNS FROM C(ONGRESSIONAL HEARING Dr. James C. Ryan, Territorial Commissioner of Education, re- turned from a Congressional hear- ing on a bill which may aid school districts overburdened by children of non-taxpaying Federal employees and residents of Federal reserva- t.ons. { The hearing was on House billl 4115. It was held in Seattle, and Dr. Ryan, Don Foster, superinten- dent of the Alaska Native Service, 1949 chiorage represented Alaska. Dr. Ryan said the bill would also bring all funds from Federal agen- cies for the aid of local school dis- tricts under one agency. He said Alaska's representatives were closely questioned in a three- hour session by the Congressional committee headed by Representative | Cleveland M. Bailey, West Virginia | Democrat.
