Thirty-five dollars was turne over to the chapter in memory of the late Harry I. Lucas by friends who in place of sending flowers con- tributed to a cause that he was very greatly interested in. The board voted to change the time for the membership drive for the ACCA after hearing Betty Mc- Cormick tell of her visit to Terri- torial headquarters of the ACCA ai Anchorage and discussing various phases of the program with Mrs. Margot Hoppin, Territorial Presi- dent. The drive will bé conducted in November in place of January as heretofore. Mrs, Dorothy Far- rel was named membership chair- man with the board members as assistants. Mrs. Farrel and Mrs. Bland told of the ACCA jars that have been placed in the various business places in Juneau and Douglas and that they were still putting them out. Mrs. Betty McCormick was elected Vice President succeeding Mrs. G. M. Ferguson of Douglas who is leaving too make her home in the States. Mrs. McCormick brought back from Anchorage two life member-{ ship certificates in the ACCA to be presented to Wallis George and Al Shyman of Seattle. These had been awarded Jast year but have just Ltecome available. Also dis- played were several articles made for the ACCA and which will be handled by the group and will be on display at the Vic Power store. The proceeds go entirely for the ACCA program.
