THURSDAY, JUNE 16, 1949 HIGH COURT PLANS ARE ANNOUNCED take up two controversial matters | during the fall term. The Tribunal agreed to pass on the validity of an Arkansas law under which pick- cting may ke held a eriminal of- fense if there is violence. The re- view wes asked by lawyers for the C.10. ‘The high court also agreed. to rule on the legality of an anti- Communist program -adopted by Los Angeles county to determine the loyaity of its employees. The program calls for the employees to disclose if they ever ~have been connected with certain. organiza- tions and to state whether since December 7, 1941—Pearl Day—they have zeen members ot any group advocating the over- thyow of the government by force. A group of emgloyees filed the appeal after = California State Courts refused them injunctions to halt the program. METERED PARKING MONDAY AT 9 A, M.
