F. Ghiglione,' vho, with their two children, ar- ved in Juneau on the Denali, are being extensively entertained while visiting here briefly before con- tinuing to Anchorage, their former, home prior to the war. Mrs. Ghiglione, the former Alice Palmer, who made her home in| Minneapolis during her husband’s absence in the armed service, was | formerly on the staff of the Ju-| neau Public Schools. Ghiglione will be remembered by construction men here particularly as the engineer, in charge of thei building of the Juneau-Douglas| bridge, for. the Alaska Road Com- mission. His specilications on this job were so accurate that when the | two ends met there was not a divergence of one sixteenth of an which is something of aj record on a job of that size. He was with the Alaska Road Commission with headquarters in Anchorage when the war began in the Pacific, and immediately en- ' | listed in the Navy, attaining the| rank of Commander in the Sea-| bees and, as such, supervised many construction projects in various | war areas. They plan to leave on the Steamer Yukon for Anchorage next Sunday or Monday. YRIDAY JANUARY 4, 1946 Dollar Day Specials Where Service, Price and Quality Meet... Nothing But the Besi!
