Last night we attended the Graduation Exercises. Tt was plain to see that the townspeople are very proud of this class. So are we, down here in the USO. It happens that we personally are acquainted with most of its members, both the giris and the fellows. But of co the oup we know best are those of the class who belong to our Girls’ Service from Tues- p. * Over we told aé Your Grocers SALTED SPANISH PEANUTS Swell for munching or cocking Assorted Almends Pecans Cashews Blanched, Peanuts Filberts — if you knew, as how friendly and attractive they have been our servicemen you weuld a with what sincerity we e our respec nd our affection for Neva Downs, Pat Fleek, Shirley Kleweno, Lorene . Composed cf fellqw repre ting the s 1 different branches of the serVice, the council’s responsibility has been to act .in an advisory capacity in the maintenance of the clubhouse and the operation of the program, as well as to bring to the s attention such suggestions criticisms as they might pick up from others. Especially uscful to us have been the latest meetings of the council. It seems as though ever since the place was redecorated each mem- ber has been eager to do every- thing possible to make this a better USO in fact as well as in appearance. Accordingly, today strikes us as an ideal time to ac- knowledge our indebtedness to our good friends, Coast Guardsmen Al ,Buchanan, of Leavenworth, Wash- ington; John Gionfreddo, of Wash- ington, D. This isn’t enough to the subject anything like justice. But at least we can make a start, which is this: The Juneau USO is more than y little bit happy to welcome girl who es a specially tic greeting for two re » first reason is her pos- session of the striking uniform of a Cadet Nurse.
