The Rainiers have cut Port- land’s margin from six and a half to three and a half gamés in five days. In winning, 5-4 and 2-0, Seattle pitchers limited the Angels to four hits in each contest. The opener, scheduled for seven innings, was not decided until the ninth when the Rainiers shoved over the win- ning run on a pair of singles and an error. One of the hits granted by Keith Frazier in his Seattle debut as a starting pitcher was a ‘three-run homer by Catcher “Doc” Greene in the second frame. Carl Fischer duplicated Frazier's four-hit job in the nightcap as the Rainiers counted a run each in the third and seventh innings off Ken Hicks. San Diego’s 2-1 win over Oak- land was the tenth of the season for Vallie Eaves, league strikeout king who added 13 more to this total last night.
