Hermann, arrived re- cently from the Westward, and will be actively associated with the Juneau Drug Company in the fu- ture. ‘This is in accordance with an announcement made today, by Russell R. Hermann, for the past several years owner and operator of the store. Frank Hermann is the youngest of four brothers who adopted phar- macy as a profession and he has literally grown up in the drug business. He worked for more than twenty years in various drug stores in Seattle and Wenatchee, Wash., prior to coming to Alaska in 1936. For the past seven years he has been.engaged in the ‘drug business in Anchorage and Kodiak, ‘and was ofner and operator of the Her- ;:nn Drug -Company in Kodiak, Hor to coming to Juneau. He re- cently disposed of his Kodiak in- terests to identify himself with his brother’s store here. R. R. Hermann will continue as Senior partner in the business founded by him almost fifteen years ago. Effective November 1 however, Frank Hermann will assume the active management of the store. Health Officer To Marry in Juneau A romance, which began several years ago in the Panama. Canal| Zone will culminate in marriage Monday when Captain Richard S. | Green, United States Public Health Service sanitarian, takes as his bride, Miss Verona Herman, of |hE‘ | Canal Zone. Until recently Miss Herman was a captain in the post exchange of the Women’s Army Corps Auxiliary.‘ stationed at Des Moines, Towa. She plans to wear her WAC's uniform for the ceremony. The bride-elect and the prospec- tive bridegroom met in the Canal Zone where Green was employed as superintendent of water purifi- cation and Miss Herman was -ems ployed by the Panama Railroad. Miss Herman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Herman of Bal- boa, has lived in the Canal Zone since she was a baby. She is a graduate of the University of Texas, school of business administration in Austin, Texas. After being em- ployed for a time in her home town she went to Boston where she was employed by a contracting com- pany. The former Captain in the WACS was with the second group of wo- men to be inducted at Des Moines. Prior to her coming to Juneau she attended the Army Exchange School rived in the Capital City yesterday. Captain Green, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Green of Boston was graduatéd from Harvard University in 1936. He majored in engineering sciences and the following year se- cured his master's degree in sani- tary cmzlneering 5 ' He was affiliated with the Moun- taineering Club and the Harvard Engineering Society.
