Since the mark was not in the nature of a decoration, but rather | a directional symbol, the question has arisen as to whether the arti- fact was being used to direct one to | a buried treasure, or whether Rob- ertson had inscribed the arrgw merely to add zest to the digging. Geeslin thinks the latter is the case.
