Casting off rom Juneau after dark on Wednesday, one group of three skiers completed a three-hour jaunt up the Douglas Ski Trail to spend the night at the Ski Cabin, where they were joined on thé Holiday morning by several others for a spell on the new snow blankeling the slopes above the basin. Those reaching wne basin found snow in good quantities, but too soft for high speeds. A bit of packing however resulted in a siope upon which the slat-riders were able to brush up on their turns. Spending Wednesday night at the Cabin’ were: Joe Werner, Gene Rhode and W. K. Clark. Among those making their way up thg trail to the Basin on Thursday fore- noon were: Ernest Parsons, Bud Whiteside, Elmer Benedict, Richard —4 {Reynolds, Ralph Moreau, James £ very, George Converse, Axel Neilson Wes Overby, Jay Williams, and George Prucha. Joe Werner, Ski Club President found the snow so much to his lik- ing that he decided to remain at the Ski Cabin for several more days Another group of skiers laid their course for the Spaulding Ski Trail, |# Chamberlain, T IS U \'\\I'fl("' SECRETARY MORGENTHAU as does Co- Roos singing han in the role of President velt: If I'm not relected, I'll never fear for hunger, I'l never fear for thirst I have one son with DuPont, Another one with Hearst. I feel a chill coming on.” There is that suggestion, too, that the U. 8. Supreme Court, cease its chorous work long enough to declare the constitution unconstitutional. In the pictures are members of the Supreme Court who are paired with ladies of the chorus; Bijou Perkins; Taylor Holmes, as Secre-| tary of the Treasury Morgenthau; | and Cohan as Mr. Roose | which they reported to be in good early season shape. Heading the Spaulding Trail group was Irvine Noble, who is reported to be still under a snowdrift in that section. - ELKS’ BOWLERS TO ROLL AGAIN the Elks alleys gave to Thanksgiving fes- tonight, tournament where it left off last Bowling on way yesterday tivities, but play picks up Tuesday.
