Douglas now offers a most unusu- al opportunity to persons seeking a home of their own on the easy pay- ment plan without the usual cash outlay to get started. Under the Federal Housing plan the govern- ment supplies 80 percent of the money necessary for building the home and the purchaser must sup- ply the 20 percent balance in lot and cash. The Chamber is offer- ing backing for that 20 percent to help get homes started. A fund for that purpose is to be established by contributions from the Chamber members and will be made arevolving one as the home-owners can con- veniently reimburse it for their por- tion. In this way the fund can be restored to its full value intermit- tantly and always will belong to the criginal contributors to use again or draw down. A From now on for the present, reg- ular meetings of the Chamber will be held every two weeks, on Thurs- day evenings at one of the local dine places. The next meeting is scheduled for next Thursday at 6 p.m. at the Douglas Inn. Lunch will be served and everyone interested is invited to be on hand for the meet~ ing. Applicants for homes under the new plan will be guests of the Chamber. - HOUSE G HONORED In honor of her guest, Miss Jes- sie Doig, Mrs. W. E.
